Government Polytechnic Jammu Organizes Webinar Series 2020 - Meeting the Mentors

Principal Secretary to School Education and Skill Development Department, Dr. Asgar Hassan Samoon today inaugurated the Webinar Series - Meeting the Mentors organized by Government Polytechnic College Jammu w.e.f 5th to 13th August 2020.

Speaking at the Webinar titled” Meeting the Mentors”, Dr. Asgar Hassan Samoon stressed on the need to impart quality Skill education and to generate greater employability opportunities for the students of Skill Development Department. He also emphasized on a stronger Industry Institute Partnership and greater practical education to students. He appreciated the efforts of the institute in organizing such webinars for the students in current situation and guiding them to set goals in the right directions to make a successful career in Engineering by interacting with Mentors having Engineering background with rich experience.
Sh. Sajad Hussain Ganaie, Director Skill Development Department, while speaking on the occasion, emphasized the importance of such online webinars as very crucial for all round development of students and making them aware of various potential career by interacting with Mentors.

Er. Arun Bangotra, Principal, Govt. Polytechnic Jammu while presenting the welcome address at the start of the webinar greeted the Dignitaries, speakers and participants and said that the motive of organizing this webinar series is to provide a platform to students to interact with Mentors who are successful Technocrats, Entrepreneurs and Alumni of Government Polytechnic Jammu having successful careers in various government and private sectors. More than 680 students of Polytechnics had registered to attend the Webinar series.

The mentors of the Webinar Series titled Meeting the Mentors are Er. Jagdeep Singh, Technical Specialist at Cummins Inc, USA, Er. Brajveer Singh, Technical Specialist at Department of Atomic Energy, GOI, Er. Kuldeep Singh Gandralia, Entrepreneur with an industrial set up Prayog Industries Ltd and the mentor for the final session will be the son of soil and an alumni of Government polytechnic Jammu, Er. Amit Khullar presently serving as Wing Commander in Indian Air Force who will be interacting with students in four sessions.

The session was attended by Joint Directors of Polytechnic and Joint Directors of ITI of Jammu and Kashmir Division, Principals of various Polytechnics of Jammu and Kashmir Division, Superintendents of ITI of Jammu and Kashmir Division, HODs, faculty members and various students of polytechnic sector from both Jammu and Kashmir Division. The member of the organizing committee was Sh. Rajesh Khajuria, TPO, Er. Ajay Thapa, Er. Jasdeep Kour, Er. Shoket Ali and Er. Akash Dusgotra. The session was moderated by Er. Jasdeep Kour, Lecturer Government Polytechnic Jammu who presented vote of thanks.
