A one week Short term programme on Appropriate Technology and its dissemination was organized by Govt. Polytechnic Jammu in collaboration with National Institute of Technical Training Teacher and Research (NITTTR), Chandigarh in which participants from Govt. Polytechnic for Women, I.E.C.S Polytechnic, N.P Polytechnic, N.I.T.S Polytechnic and Kalamkari Polytechnics where Community Development through Polytechnic (CDTP) scheme of M.H.R.D is running participated. During the workshop the lecturers where delivered by the experts i.e Dr. Prem from Kissan Vikas Kender, R.S Pura, Sh. R.L Bangotra from Agriculture Deptt., Sh. M.G Singh from Apiculture Department, Smt. Shaila Irim from Rural Development Department. The various field visits were also organized during the workshop to enhance the knowledge of staff of CDTP scheme to Village Chang to know about vegetable dying, Kissan vikas kender R.S Pura about fishery and vermi culture beds and fish aquarium and Vocational Polytechnic Kalamkari about block and screen printing. The resource person from NITTTR Chandigarh was Dr. Poonam Syal, Associate Professor, Rural Department. The Principal of the College Er. Arun Bangotra, thanked the participating faculty members of various institutions, resource persons from the NITTTR chandigarh and from the various fields. Others who were present were Sh. M.S Bhat, Joint Director, Technical Education Department, Sh. K.S Bhatia, Smt. Vinay Gupta, Sh. Raj Shekhar and Manjeet Singh, all HODs, Mr. Rajnish Magotra, Sh. P.L Kher, Sh. Dinesh Gupta and Smt. Jyoti , all I/C CDTPs of various polytechnics. The local co-ordinator of the Programme was Er. K.S Manhas, Lecturer, Civil Engg. who presented vote of thanks
