The Humanities Department of Govt. Polytechnic Jammu in collaboration with National Institute of Technical Training Teacher and Research (NITTTR), Chandigarh organized one week Integration Communication Technology (ICT) based online (video conferencing) short term course on Communications Skills in the college in which more than 50 faculty of various department of the college, Government Women Polytechnic, Jammu, NITS Polytechnic , IECS Polytechnic and North Polytechnic and final year students of the college participated in the said programme. The co-ordinator of the programme from NITTTR Chandigarh was Prof P.K Singla, Incharge Curriculum Development Centre of NITTTR Chandigarh. Online lectures were delivered by the subject experts from NITTTR Chandigarh Prof P.K Singla, Prof S.P Bedi and Prof Meera Anand through video conferencing.

In the training programme lectures were delivered on significance and process of communication, reading skills, oral skills, listening skills and writing skills. For the final year students the lectures were delivered on the topics i.e Resume writing, presentation skills, group discussion and how to appear interview. The Principal of the College Er. Arun Bangotra, welcomed the participating faculty members of various institutions of technical education in Jammu region and thanked the NITTTR chandigarh for organizing such types of the programmes for teachers. The Chief Guest of the programme was Er. N.H Malik, Secretary State Board of Technical Education (J&K) who applauded the effort of the college and NITTTR in organizing such types of programmes for updation of technical skills of the teachers and students.

Others who were present were Er. I.J Singh, Er. Zia –Ul- Haq Kohli and Er. Harinder Arora, Er K.S Bhatia, Er. K.S Manhas HODs of various departments. The local co-ordinator of the Programme was Er. Munish Kumar, (HOD Humanities). The Programme was concluded in which the feedback session and valediction and the vote of thanks was given by Smt. Seema Kanotra, lecturer.
