Government Polytechnic Jammu organized Seminar on
Preservation of Fruits & Vegetables

Government Polytechnic, Bikram Chowk Jammu in collaboration with the Horticulture department of Jammu organized one day seminar for students on preservation of Fruits and vegetables and its scope for entrepreneurship. Er. Arun Bangotra, Principal, Government Polytechnic Jammu while addressing the students said that the local fruits and vegetables are amongst the best and most diverse in the world and there is real need to promote them and save the heritage of the state. Sh. Gul Syed, Chief Canning Officer and Sh. Nirjal Singh, Instructor from Horticulture Department and their team demonstrated live the step by step manufacturing process of fruit Jam and displayed various preservation technique.

They also informed the students about infrastructure required to become enterprenuer and schemes of the government regarding setting up of own unit for preservation of fruits/vegetables. It was an interactive session and latter students also interacted with the experts from the Horticulture department. At the end Er. Khalid Sheikh, NSS Programme Officer presented the vote of thanks. .Others present in seminar were Er. Inderjeet Singh, Er. Zia- ul-Haq, Er. K.S. Bhatia, Head of Departments, staff and students.
