Government Polytechnic Jammu organized Awareness Seminar on Blue Whale Challenge Game
Government Polytechnic Bikram Chowk Jammu today organized one day awareness seminar in the college on “Blue Whale Game Challenge’ in which large number of students and staff participated. Er. Arun Bangotra, Principal of the institute while addressing the gathering briefed the students about the negative effects of the social media and said that use of social media is beneficial but should be used in a limited way without getting addicted. He further stressed to the teachers to assess the activities of students on social networking sites.
Social media has various merits but it also has some demerits which affect people negatively. Social media can abuse the society by invading on people’s privacy, some useless blogs can influence youth that can become violent and can take some inappropriate actions. A detailed presentation on the Blue Whale challenge was given by Computer Department of the college. The speakers Er. Hamid Malik and Er. Shokat Ali, faculty of the institute gave awareness to the students on Blue whale game and its stages and how one could save himself and his dears from consequences of this challenge.
The invited guest speaker Er. Sahil Gupta, Project Manager, JK Engineers boosted the spirit of the students towards positivity and motivated them to enjoy life and overcome depression.
Interactive and audio video sessions were held where the students participated with enthusiasm. The program was organized by Er. Khalid Sheikh and Er, Sanam Gupta from Government Polytechnic Jammu. Others present in the seminar were Er. Inderjeet Singh, Workshop Superintendent, Er. K S Bhatia HoD Mechanical, other officials, staff and students.
