Govt Polytechnic Jammu organised Mega Recruitment Drive under Udaan

Two days Mega recruitment cum training drive under Udaan was conducted at Govt. Polytechnic Jammu on 20th and 21st November to provide job opportunities to various students of Polytechnic, Engineering and other graduates and post-graduates of J&K. Udaan is a Special Industry Initiative (SII) for J&K students and is funded by the Ministry of Home Affairs and implemented by the National Skill Development Corporation (NSDC). The programme is a part of an overall initiative of Govt. of India to address the economic issues of J&K students. Around 13 corporate houses representing a wide range of sectors like security services, IT, ITES, health care services, logistics etc. participated in the drive. The corporate houses included IISD, IL&FS, Mount Talent Consulting, Multicare Services Pvt Ltd, Rooman Technologies, S.E-Biz, Saha-e-Village, Suntech Info Solutions Pvt Ltd, VISPL, Maruti-Sazuki, Experts IT Pvt Ltd, KPMG, Quess Corp Ltd.

Er. Arun Bangotra, Principal of the college welcomed and thanked the recruiting faculties for providing the job opportunity to the polytechnic and other students and impress upon the students to participate in the various placement drives with full enthusiasm and make full use of their professional & technical skills for employability to various organizations.
In the placement drive more than 200 candidates appeared for on-spot recruitment cum training drive in various corporate and 95 students were selected for training and recruitment at various locations of India. The selected candidates would be trained outside the state for minimum of three to six months, during which free accommodation, food, travelling charges, stipend of Rs.2,500 per month, health insurance and training diploma by the NSDC would be provided. Pre-counseling placement session was also conducted for the students to give them exposure with regard to soft skills traits for interview.

Mr. Ajay Pal Singh Mobilisation Officer, Strategic Projects from NSDC envisaged good mobilization for drive. The whole process was conducted under the supervision of Sh. Rajesh Khajuria, Training & Placement Officer of the college, Er. Deepak Gupta, Er. Shorab Gupta, Er. P. K Angral and Er. Atul Sudan, the members of Training and placement cell.
