Electrical Engineering Department lifts 3rd Fazil Abbas Rolling Trophy Volley Ball Tournament
During the nail biting final match, Spiker Mr. Naseer from Electrical Engineering Department led from the front with his dominating performance and smashed Automobile Engineering Department by 2-1 sets to lifted the 3rd Fazil Abbas Volleyball Rolling Trophy Finals here in Govt. Polytechnic Bikram Chowk Jammu. The tournament which commence on the 10-04-2018 in which overall 96 student players from Eight department of this institution participated. Mr. Kuljeet Vice Captain from Automobile Engineering Department tried his level best with his drops and spikes and strong defence from teammates and mounted pressure on Electrical Engineering department to level the game by 1-1. But Electrical Engineering department dished-out a clinical performance with both blocks and smashes. Mr. Naseer and Mr. Abhishek wreaked havoc on the hopes of opponents, raising the temperature of the crowd who were enjoying every moment of the final. Faculty of both the departments remained with crossed figures till the decider points in the nail biting finish. Finally floating service from Mr. Naseer of Electrical engineering Department decided the game in the favour of Electrical Engineering Department by 2-1 sets with the score 25-21, 21-25 & 25-17. The tournament was played on the name of Brilliant student of the college Late Mr. Fazil Abbas, 4th semester Architecture who passed away on 4th may 2015. On the valedictory function, Er Arun Bangotra, Principal of the institute was the Chief Guest. While speaking on the occasion, Er. Arun Bangotra laid stress on the importance of sports activities and encouraged the students to participate in sports activities which develop the quality of leadership, sense of responsibility and create the feeling of oneness by working together. Later on trophies medals and prizes were distributed among the winners, runner-ups, officials and volunteers. The Tournament was organised under the overall supervision of Mr. Rakesh Kakkar, Physical Education Master of Sports Department who presented the vote of thanks. Others who were present on the occasion were Sh. Inderjeet Singh, Workshop Supdt, Sh. K.S Bhatia HOD (Mechanical), Er. Sukhdeep Singh HOD (Civil), Er Rajesh Gupta, HOD (Automobile), Mr. Amit Sharma HOD (Travel and Tourism), Ar. Ritika Wadera, HOD (Architecture), Er. Sanjay Gupta HOD (Electrical), Mrs. Toshi Devi, PET, Er Mehmood Ahmed, Er P.K Angral, Er. Devika Bhardwaj, Er Itika Sharma, Er Navdeep Sharma, Er Vicky Verma other staff and students of the college.
