Government Polytechnic college Jammu celebrated National Sports Day

Government Polytechnic college Jammu celebrated National Sports Day in the college with great pomp and show in which students of various departments participated in the sports disciplines of chess, Carrom and Badminton.

Principal Er. Arun Bangotra was the chief guest on the occasion while Workshop Superintendent Sh. Inderjeet Singh was the guest of honor. Er. Arun Bangotra, Principal while speaking on the occasion apprised students about life and sport journey of Major Dhyan Chand in whose memory this day is being celebrated. He exhorted upon all present to take part in some sports to remain fit and healthy. In the Badminton Boys category, Mr. Amit Chalotra was winner while Runner up was Mr. Akhileshwar Singh. In Badminton Girls category winner was Ms. Neha and runner up was Ms. Sakshi Gupta. In Chess Boys winner was Mr. Akash Radha and runner up was Ms. Ayush Mehra, in chess Girls winner was Ms. Vineeta. In carrom Boys winner was Mr. Aqib Mir while in carrom Girls winner was Ms Shaila. In the end a spoon race was organised and students and staff took part as a fun which was enjoyed by everyone. Certificate to all the winners and runners up was distributed by the chief guest in presence of all staff and students. Among those present on occasion were Er Sukhdeep Singh HOD Civil Engg.
