Government Polytechnic Jammu organised Inter Department Carrom Tournament

Government Polytechnic Jammu organised Inter-department “Carrom Tournament” as per its annual calendar of Sports activities in the college in which 85 students of ten different departments of the institute participated. The Tournament was held w. e. f on 3rd of November –to- 08th November 2023. The Final of Inter-department competition was held today in which Principal Er. Arun Bangotra Government Polytechnic Jammu was chief guest. Speaking on the occasion of felicitation function he told students that "In Sports and life the success depends on planning and believing, and execution of the plan. Only those who plan well succeed in Sports and life.' He also laid stress on all HODs to encourage girl students to participate more in sports activities.

In the 1st semifinal Mr. Rohit Parihar student of Mechanical Engineering beat Mr. Mohd. Idrees student of Civil Engineering department. In the second Semi Final Mr. Nakul Bhagat student of Electrical Engineering beat Mr. Dheeraj Pande student of Travel and Tourism Department. In the Final of Boys category, Mr. Nakul Bhagat of Electrical engineering department beat Mr. Rohit Parihar of Mechanical engineering department. In Girls category the Final was played between Ms. Nancy student of Architecture and Ms. Deepika Sharma student of Information Technology and in a close contest Ms. Nancy remained Victorious. Sh Amit Kumar Sharma Sport Secretary presented the vote of thanks to the chief guest and all the guest of honour who spared their valuable time for the occasion. Those who were present in closing ceremony include Er. Raj Kumar HoD Mechanical Engineering, Er Manjeet Singh HoD Electrical Engineering, Er Sukhdeep Singh HoD Civil Engineering, Er Sanjay Koul HoD Computer Engineering, Er Jasdeep Kour HoD Instrumentation and Control department, Er. Amit Gupta, Er. Akash Dasgotra, Ms. Snehjot Kour, Er. Vicky Sharma, and Sh. Ashok Verma. The Matches were officiated under the supervision of Sh Dheeraj Kumar Lecturer Travel & Tourism, Sh. Chamel Singh PEM, Smt Toshi Devi PET and Sh. Rakesh Khullar Inst. Repairer.
