![]() Today on 20-09-2025, a comprehensive review meeting at the Government Polytechnic Jammu by the Honourable Deputy Chief Minister of Jammu and Kashmir, Shri Surinder Kumar Chaudhary chaired to assess the progress of academic, infrastructural, and administrative initiatives at the institution.
The meeting was attended by Sh. Kumar Rajeev Ranjan, IAS Administrative Secretary to the Government of J&K Department of Skill Development, Sh. Ashish Gupta, JKAS Special Secretary in the Jammu & Kashmir (J&K) Department of Skill Development, Sh. Shahzad Alam IAS Director Skill Development Government of Jammu and Kashmir and Ms. Leena Padha Mission Director Skill Development Mission, Sh. Suket Gupta Secretary Jammu and Kashmir Board of Technical Education, and various Principal of Government Polytechnics & ITIs of Jammu Division and Er. Kuldeep Singh Bhatia Registrar JKBOTE and HODs of Government Polytechnic Jammu. The Hon’ble Deputy Chief Minister reviewed the ongoing development projects, academic performance, and implementation of various government schemes aimed at skill development and technical education enhancement. In his address, the Hon’ble Deputy Chief Minister J&K emphasized the governments commitment to strengthening technical education in the Union Territory. "Institutions like Government Polytechnic Jammu play a vital role in preparing our youth for industry-ready careers. It is our priority to ensure that they are equipped with the latest infrastructure and training to meet modern industry demands," he said. The Hon’ble Deputy Chief Minister J&K also took stock of the implementation status of centrally sponsored schemes such as Mission YUVA and PMKVY, and directed concerned officials to expedite pending works related to infrastructure, digital classrooms, and hostel facilities. He appreciated the efforts of the institute in fostering innovation and skill development among students. The Principal, Er. Talet Mahmood Government Polytechnic Jammu gave a detailed presentation highlighting the institute’s achievements, new initiatives, placement activities and future plans. He also outlined challenges related to staff shortages and infrastructure that require immediate attention. The meeting concluded with an interactive session with faculty and students, where the Hon’ble Deputy Chief Minister J&K assured full support from the government to resolve key issues and elevate the institution to new heights of excellence. |
