Solid Waste Management Compaign Launched at Government Polytechnic Jammu

Deputy Commissioner Jammu Sushma Chauhan today launched Solid Waste management Campaign in Jammu district from Government Polytechnic College Jammu. ACD Aijaz Qaiser, Principle Govt Polytechnic College Er. Arun Bangotra, PO ICDS Natasha Kalsotra, CMO Danish Khan, DPO Sunaina Kotwal, Nodal Officer Solid Waste Management JMC Dr Zaffar Iqbal, BDOs and other senior officers of the concerned department along with Sarpanchs of the district were present at the function organized in the Auditorium Hall of Government Polytechnic Jammu.

In her address, the Deputy Commissioner said that solid waste management is an important component for sustainable development and needs special focus. Every department and functionary associated with this campaign shall put in a committed effort to achieve the desired results on the ground, she added. She also stressed upon to involve sarpanchs and panchs to make the mission a success. A short play to create awareness against use of single use plastic and a song on the topic of cleanliness were also performed by a group of artist of Rajwal Films which were applauded by one and all present on the occasion.

ACD Aijaz Qaiser presented the welcome note and Arun Bangotra Principal Govt Polytechnic Jammu presented vote of thanks. Nodal Officer JMC Zaffar Iqbal gave a detailed presentation to make the people aware along with side effects of single use plastic.
