Ecology and Environmental Camp Organized By Government Polytechnic Jammu

The students of Automobile Engineering Department of Govt. Polytechnic Bikram Chowk Jammu visited Patnitop for the three days Ecology and Environmental awareness camp. The students alongwith Faculty members was flagged off from Govt. Polytechnic Jammu by Er. Arun Bangotra, Principal of the college who while speaking on the occasion said that the motive of organising this camp is to make general public, tourists and students aware of various pollutions, its harmful effects and measure to control them. Various activities were organised during three days Camp. A rally was organized by the students in Patnitop and Chanderkot, Ramban with placards in their hands showing the importance of saving our earth from the harmful Air and Water Pollution and benefits of cleanliness. During the camp the students also visited Baghliar Project at Chanderkot, Ramban. The students visited Govt. Middle school upper Karlah near Patnitop. The students of the school were provided with the knowledge about the ecology and environment, Solid waste management and Current issues in environmental pollution and its control by the faculty members and students of the Polytechnic college. The students of the school were also provided with the knowledge about the Engineering courses taught in the Govt. Polytechnics of the state. A cleanliness drive was held in the premises and around. Cleanliness drive was held at Patnitop, Natha Top, Sudh Mahadev and Mantalai during three days and general public was made aware about the harmful effects of Single use Plastic. A clear message was delivered to the people around and the tourists to not use Single use plastic items. The arrangements for the camp by made by Er. Rajesh Gupta, H.O.D. Automobile Engg. The students were accompanied by faculty, Er Mehmood Ahmed, Er Navdeep Sharma, Er Surjeet Phonsa, Mr Gurdeep Khorana.
