The faculty and Students of Govt Polytechnic College Jammu participated in one day Online Webinar on “Simulation of Power Converters Using Python” on Thursday 11th June 2020, using Zoom Platform Conducted by Rajiv Gandhi Memorial College of Engineering and Technology Nandyal, Kurnool, Andhra Pradesh. The Webinar was attended by participants from all over India including Jammu and Kashmir. During the Webinar, the Experts from eminent institutions across India delivered online lectures. The expert Dr. M. Kaliamoorthy, Associate Professor Department of Electrical and Electronics Engineering, from Dr. Mahalingam College of Engineering and Technology, Pollachi Tamilnadu, enlighten the participants about latest Programming Languages in Computers, especially Python, its installation of application, installation of Numpy packages, importing packages into python and utilizationof Python to Simulate Power Converters. The main focus of webinar is to familiarize the participants about the Installation and setting up of Python, Simulating a basic resistive circuit, How inductors and capacitors form energy storage elements in power electronic circuits, The working of a diode using simulations, Building a rectifier step by step using simulations, Simulating a buck converter and so on.
During the proceedings of the online webinar, The HoD, Computer Engineering & IT Department ,Er. Zia Ul Haq Kohli also spoke about Data Science Python which is widely used and is a favourite tool along being a flexible and open sourced language. Its massive libraries are used for data manipulation and are very easy to learn even for a beginner data analyst. He thus stressed all the faculty members and students to attend these emerging latest programming languages Online Webinars. Er. Shokat Ali and Er. Aejaz Farooq from Computer Engineering Department of the college also participated in the Webinar besides other faculty members. The Principal of Govt. Polytechnic College jammu Er. Arun Bangotra emphasis on current trends towards latest technologies of Computer engineering and termed Online Webinars as a great platform for the exchange of ideas and programming skills. He also emphasizes on conduction of such Webinars beneficial to not only students but for faculties and research scholars also, in the prevalent Covid-19 conditions. These Webinars are extremely useful for online studies of students and helps them in achieving their dreams in studies, especially in these lockdown conditions. He Added.
