Govt. Polytechnic College Jammu Organized one day Online Webinar on “Guidance & Career Counseling” in collaboration with Cognizant Software Company

May 29, 2021 :- To generate employment opportunities for the students of Polytechnic sector Department of Computer Engineering & CIIIT, Government Polytechnic College Jammu organized an online guidance and career counseling session in collaboration with Cognizant Information Technology Consulting Company. Mr. Arnab Mitra. Mr. Shiraz Ahmed and Mr Amit Sahai IT Professional in Cognizant were the chief spokesperson for the session.
During the interactive session, Mr. Arnab Mitra, IT Professional in Cognizant shared his experiences and success stories to motivate the participants to choose their profession with confidence, besides preparing to face future challenges. In his address, Mr Mitra, sensitized the participants about job potential in the IT Sector and benefits being offered by Multinational Companies across the globe. The session was very interactive were Mr Shiraz Ahmed presented the visuals of various careers. The session proved to be beneficial as it not only guided the students but also increase their knowledge about the various career options. The main purpose of the event was to acquaint the attendees with various career possibilities after DIPLOMA Enginnering and most importantly help students realize their innate potential and qualities and thus make the right choice of stream, so that later they could make the right career choice. On the whole, the session was very well received with a number of students expressing that their awareness levels have increased. A question answer session was also held at the end and the students were satisfied with the responses of resource person. The Principal Er. Ritu Jamwal of Govt. Polytechnic College jammu said that A career choice should never be influenced by peers or relatives. With the availability of better quality education, awareness, technology and the ever increasing and varied industry requirements, an individual can now choose the exact career path he wants to pursue based on his personal profile and interests. A career choice should be made after carefully considering every minute detail, situation, interest and scope. Unfortunately, most students fail to get this right at the right time and end up in courses and professions that neither satisfy their passion nor keep them motivated.
